GIMMELDINGER SCHLÖSSEL

VDP. Erste Lage

Gimmeldinger Schlössel Spätburgunder Flaschenfoto

The nearby Hildenbrandseck manor house, which used to belong to the Idig, lent the Schlössel its name. The site connects to the northern part of the Meerspinne vineyard. The gentle slope to the east slightly tilts to the north. The inflow of cold air from the Gimmelding valley is significantly softer here but still noticeable. The soil consists of a mixture of lime loess from the Meerspinne vineyard and red sandstone boulders. The vineyard was grafted-on to Pinot Noir in 2017. Two years later, the vines have had enough time to coalesce, resulting in beautiful Pinot Noir grapes. The wine impresses with its charming cherry fruit and spicy nature. With the 2019 vintage, we are presenting a VDP.Erstes Gewächs for the first time.
